Windsor Castle is understood to be the largest populated castles around today & the eldest in nonstop occupation (well over 900 years). It is one of Queen Elizabeth’s 3 royal homes, & is tine & time again alleged to be her most adored home. The Royal Standard flies over the Round Tower of Windsor Castle as soon as Queen Elizabeth 2nd is in palace – whereas, at alternative periods, the Union Jack banner flutters in its position.

Samuel Pepys remarked the Castle to be “the single most idealistic castle in the world.” That was alleged in 1666, & the same has been said today. Click here to find out more information about Windsor castle.

Windsor Castle Remarkable History:

The launch of Windsor can be seen in the early 7th century Saxon hamlet of Windlesora, where the contemporary day dwellings of Old Windsor is located. The town of Windsor is accurately identified as “New Windsor” – the actual word “new” being used in a relative sense!

Windsor Castle at the start was built by the famous William the Conqueror, following his assault of England in 1066. The original structure was constructed from timber with mud ramparts. Palace held an understandable tactical position on a steep hill on top of the River Thames, and was part of a collection of strongholds in the region the City, with the Tower of London, one day’s walk away, at its core.

The Palace was then later rebuilt in rock, & rose in value over time. Henry the 2nd erected the Round Tower & the original stone outer wall. Following the English Civil War, the Castle’s primary function became that of a royal dwelling. The Castle has stayed principally unbothered ever since the start of the 19th century, apart from the repair work following the recent fire.

Thanksgiving Recipes

Monday, June 16th, 2008

Cooking Thanksgiving dinner can be a fun and memorable experience. If possible get your family and relatives involved in the cooking process and it can be a learning experience for them as well. Start asking someone to chop up some russell potatoes, yellow onions, and bulk carrots. These vegetables will go under the Turkey to keep it up off of the bottom of the pan. The idea is to keep the Turkey out of the drippings which would make it soggy and disgusting if left to cook in.

While someone is chopping those veggies, wash your Turkey inside and out. Make sure you take the giblets out and keep them in the frig for the gravy that you will make later. After washing the Turkey thouroughly, rub it with salt and olive oil. The oil and salt will help the Turkey to cook better as well as give it extra flavor. Some prefer to use butter instead of olive oil, but I like the taste the olive oil gives the turkey and the drippings which you will use for making gravy.

Place the turkey on the vegetables and stuff the Turkey with celery, carrots, parsley, thyme, sage, oregano, and a bay leaf. You won’t eat these vegetables and herbs, but they will serve to add flavor to the bird. Get the turkey in the oven at 350 degress. Wash your hands as you have been handling uncooked meat that can make you and your family sick. Plan ahead of time and expect the turkey to take between 4-7 hours depending on how many pounds it is. In the meantime you can start on the other fixings like cranberries.

Fresh cranberries are by far worth the extra effort. It’s really not that much extra effort as a matter of fact. Just wash the cranberries and put them in a pan with some water and sugar. Adjust the water to sugar ratio depending on your taste. Usually 1 cup of sugar per 1/2 pound of cranberries is about the right amount. Add enough water to just cover the cranberries in the pot. Cook off the water on low heat until you have a think cranberry sauce and then place it in the frig to serve later. The next course to work on is the stuffing.

I prefer to make the stuffing outside of the Turkey in a 9 by 13 inch pan. I start by browning some onions in butter. Then I add some fresh spinach and garlic. After the spinach has wilted add some stale bread to the pan. While the bread is absorbing the buttery onion / spinach flavor whisk together come half and half, 2 large eggs, salt, and pepper. Transfer the bread, onion, and spinach mixture to the 13 by 9 inch pan and pour the half and half / egg mixture over the top. Sprinkle with italian seasoning and some fresh chopped parsley. You can put this in the frig and wait to cook it in the oven with the turkey for the last hour.

By this time your turkey has been in the oven cooking for about an hour and it is time to begin basting it. Take your baster and suck up the drippings in the bottom of the pan and release them over the top of the turkey. You’ll want to do this every half hour until the turkey is done. You will know that the turkey is done when your meat thermometer registers 170 degrees F. I like my turkey well-done at a safe high temperature well beyond the recomended internal safe temperature.

Basketball Fundamentals – Shooting Lay-ups

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

The lay-up is the most basic shot in basketball. Unfortunately, it does not get a lot of attention when people work on improving their overall game. In a time now where fundamentals are slowly being forgotten and replaced with fancy show-boating moves, players need to remind themselves of the basic techniques of shooting lay-ups to make themselves better scorers. In this article we will discuss just a few things associated with lay-ups that will help improve your overall game.

When Practicing Lay-ups Take It Serious
In an actual game you will rarely have the opportunity to lazily run to the basket and shoot an uncontested lay-up. Most lay-ups are shot while you are fast breaking with a defender on your hip harassing you all the way to the basket. If you practice lay-ups nonchalantly then in a game type situation you are more likely to miss the lay-up because you might jump off the wrong foot, or shoot the lay-up too hard because your timing is off. It’s not logical at all for you to make even the simplest of shots in a game if you are not practicing the shots the same way you would shoot them in a game. Make sure you are using correct technique and that you are moving at game speed when you shoot lay-ups during your warm-ups.

Be Able To Use Both Hands
You should be able to shoot lay-ups effectively with both the right and left hand. If you are driving to the basket on the left hand side of the floor and shoot a lay-up using your right hand you are likely to get the shot blocked. Make sure that whatever side of the basket you are driving towards you use that hand to shoot the lay-up. This will ensure that your body will be in between you and your defender and it’s likely that you will draw a foul if your defender tries to block your shot.

Be Selective
If you try to shoot the same type of lay-up in every situation you will lack the advantage. It’s important that you are use to shooting different types of lay-ups so that you will be harder to defend in certain situations. For example a defender may be over aggressively challenging every shot you take, as you get to the basket you may want to head fake and shoot what is referred to as a power lay-up where you go off two feet and try to draw a foul or shoot over your defender as you time it perfect. Or sometimes on a break you would want to actually shoot a lay-up with the opposite hand of the side of the basket you are driving towards. Sometimes when you are pressured to get a shot off you can get the ball to the basket quicker if you were to use the right hand when going up on the left hand side of the basket or vice versa. The bottom line is that you need to have a selection of lay-ups that you feel comfortable shooting so that during games you can use every advantage you possibly can.

How To Prevent Bird Flu – Protection The Natural Healthy Way

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

With health authorities predicting a major bird flu pandemic I’ve been flooded with this basic question – how to prevent bird flu.

I’m a prominent Australian health writer and for me this is not a light question.

The right answers in the hands of the right people could save thousands even millions of lives if avian influenza does mutate to become a virus spread from human to human.

The right answers could even save the life of someone close to you.

This article reveals the three simplest natural, healthy strategies to bird flu protection.

Leading advanced hygiene pioneer Dr Kenneth Seaton invested over 15 years developing practical strategies to help ordinary people avoid respiratory viruses like avian influenza, other ordinary strains of influenza and even the common cold…

Seaton knew 95% of viruses like the bird flu enter our bodies from contact between our fingernails and the mucous membranes of our eyes and nose.

Your fingernails harbor viruses and all you have to do is get virus droplets on your hands then touch your face and the cycle of virus transmission is complete.

These are three basic recommendations for avoiding the bird flu and other respiratory viruses based on Seaton’s extensive research…

1. Don’t touch your face with your hands. If you don’t touch your face with your fingernails you should stop the virus entering your body through the mucous membranes of your eyes or nose.

2. Wash and dry your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water every time you go to the toilet and any time you handle live birds, raw poultry or uncooked eggs.

3. Regularly perform warm facial dips to inactivate virus cells and wash them out of your nasal passageways.

Washing your hands is more complex than it might seem on the surface.

You need to use the right kinds of soap and if you can’t use soap there’s only one alternative that’s proven by the USA Centers Of Disease Control to be effective and it’s NOT an antibacterial solution.

Also most people have never even heard of a facial dip, let alone performed one.

These key therapies to effective hygiene are easy to learn and step by step details are included in the free report How To Prevent Bird Flu – The Natural Healthy Way.

Thumbs Up – Or Head Down?

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

Prayer & Meditation were Jesus The Christ’s methods of ‘imagining through God power’ on behalf of humanity. The constant overriding of what the world does, in potential, and to be fulfilled in linear time much later, although finished ever since through His high-powered animation to-be, so to speak.

During His physical ministry, not one person understood a single word He uttered (can you imagine the loneliness?). He said: “My time has not yet come, but your time is always.” Was this referring to ‘time’, or ‘timing’? Of course, the latter.

Our time is always, for according to our faith, or state of mind, we receive. His time, the end-time, for which God materialized, will be later for us, although, in the big picture it is already completed.

When His presence can be seen (with our eyes AND understood), we will have a true brotherhood, one He has produced in His meditating potential, but we are not able to conceive at this point.

Let me explain with this:

When Columbus anchored his 3 ships in the West-Indies, the indigenous people were not able to see them. They knew of the existence of boats, but not of ships in the size he steered.

However, they finally saw the ships.

How did this happen?

The individuals with a higher developed discerning capacity (shamans, chiefs, medicine men) believed, of course, that Columbus had to have a vehicle to have come there from Europe. By the size of the crew and the functionality to deal with such a trip in all areas, they were able to estimate the size of the ships, as opposed to the familiar boats.

Then, they began to notice the head waves upon repositioning of the ships. When they were finally able to see the ships, or the big ships had penetrated their brains, the entire population followed suit, or wore the same modus operandi.

Here is another example for the modus operandi, or state of mind simultaneously occupied by life-form:

A group of scientists made an experiment on a South-sea island involving monkeys. These monkeys were fed a fruit they had never seen before, the cantaloupe. Not being familiar with the cantaloupe, they, from time to time, dropped pieces into the sand. The scientists showed them how to rinse the sand off with sea water, and the monkeys quickly adopted that act, for they liked the resulting taste.

As the task was accomplished at one end of the island, the scientists traveled to the other end, where they intended to do the same with another group of monkeys.

The monkeys, although they had not been present, or personally touched a cantaloupe before, dropped fewer pieces in the sand, but instantaneously used the trick of seawater cleansing, without directly learning it.

These examples, when taken in reverse, prove that a higher state of mind has to take place here on earth, before it can be adopted by all others, which is the very reason for Jesus The Christ to get here in the flesh, or be materialized. Humanity have to have the end to which to aspire, before the aspiration takes place.

What is the thumb-up condition, to which I am referring? It is humanity cheering one-another on, thinking that they have accomplished something in their own right, or merit, while its accomplishment was not at all physical ‘work’, but penetration of brain. With the penetration of brain comes the possibility of accomplishment.

So, giving trophies, medals, certificates to one-another is the affirmation of the status quo (golden calf) that also includes the false supposition of ‘evolution’, ‘growth’, and ‘expansion’, whereas everything already has been made so.

Why are these customs called ‘idolatry’? Because they divert from the REAL power, the one that gladly gives us all we want, directly upon the asking.

When I say ‘head down’, I intend to refer to all our human ‘knowledge’ being upside-down, meaning that we would cut ‘time’ as well as ‘process’ down, potentially bringing them into the now.

When we turn around, looking toward heaven, or the higher possibility to anything, we do the very thing to which John The Baptist alerted, but did not have a literal plan of accomplishment. Those who were baptized had no clue of what to do next. When the scriptures tell us of the ONE greater than John to come in the end-times, it is God who will make Himself known in the inner self of every one on earth, literally and in theory, also in person and principle.

Home Inspectors: 5 Tips to Choosing the Right One

Friday, June 13th, 2008

Choosing the wrong Home Inspector can cost you a lot more than the fee you paid. If you choose a home inspector solely on price alone, your headed down a dangerous highway.

I’m still amazed at people who will spend countless hours, days and months looking for just the right home and then choose a home inspector solely because he was $50 or $100 than the next guy.

Home Inspector Schools are turning out record number of new inspectors. These people come from all walks of life. One week they are the door greeter at a department store, the next they’re a “Certified” home inspector.

Before choosing any inspector there are some things you need to know.

Tip #1: Research, research and research some more. Find out as much as you can about the inspector you want to hire. Call them up and speak with them over the phone. Are they easy to talk to? Are they knowledgeable about homes? Will he/she email you a sample report? Is the report easy to read and understand?

You may also want to ask your friends and coworkers for referrals. However, never take their recommendations blindly. The majority of people have no idea if they received a good inspection or not. They just know they like the inspector and he pointed some things out. Research, research, research!

Tip #2: Never hire an Inspector solely on the recommendation of your Real Estate Agent. While you may think that your agent hung the moon, they could be pushing you to use a “wink and nod” inspector, or as we in the business call them, “Drive by Inspectors.” They grab your check as the drive by the home their suppose to be inspecting. These types of inspectors “don’t rock the boat” or are not “deal killers”.

These inspectors get their business from agents who control them. The agent knows the inspector will see to it that the inspection doesn’t derail the transaction. Even if your agent recommends 2,3 or more inspectors, it’s wiser to avoid the conflict of interest and find an inspector who works for you and you only.

Tip #3: Why the word “Certified” may not be a good thing. Listen up. You can become a “Certified” home inspector by sending a hundred dollars or so to one of many home inspection associations. No experience required. Just send them the money and they send you a “Certified” certificate.

Sure, it’s good that your inspector should belong to some state and national home inspector associations. Most professionals in any business belong to industry associations in their field. Home inspectors are no different. However, there are many companies out there looking to make a buck off the backs of new home inspectors. Don’t fall for the “Certified” or “Master Certified” home inspector label. Some of these organizations use the word “Certified” in their name to try and sound credible. Buyer beware.

If you’re looking for an inspector on new construction, you do want to look for a Code “Certified” inspector.

Two national home inspector associations that you can trust are the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI)- http://www.ashi.com and the National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI)- http://www.nahi.org.

ASHI has very strict requirements for membership including passing the National Home Inspector Examination. NAHI has similar requirements.

Tip #4: You get what you pay for. Price should be at the bottom of your list of priorities when shopping for an inspector. A good, thorough and knowledgeable inspector will save you money while a poor inspector will cost you many times their fee. You may need that $100 bucks you saved to try and repair that $10,000 roof your inspector failed to warn you about.

Let’s take a 2000 square foot home. A top of the line inspector who knows what he’s doing will cost you approximately $350 to $600 for this size home, depending on a few variables. You have to ask yourself, if the inspector I choose charges less, why? What will be missed or left out of the inspection?

On the other hand, a good inspector will find things others will miss. You may want to go back to the Seller and renegotiate the price of the home. I’ve seen Sellers drop their price $30,000 because of the items we found wrong with homes. I’ve also saved my Clients countless thousands of dollars by brining major defects to their attention before they signed on the dotted line.

Tip #5: Check with you state to see if they require home inspectors to be licensed. More and more states are requiring home inspectors to be licensed. Even in these states, there are some inspectors who can’t meet the standards and will be performing illegal inspections. Check them out before hiring them.

Choosing the right Home Inspector is a very important process when buying a home. Don’t leave it to chance. Do your homework and you’ll be money ahead.

Factors that Affect the Nutritional Requirements of an Individual.

Friday, June 13th, 2008

The factors that affect the nutritional requirements of an individual are the quality and quantity of the food they eat, the efficiency of their digestive system in absorbing and utilizing eaten food and biochemical availability.

The quality of food that we eat can vary depending on the soil and growing conditions of that food. Soil that has been overworked and chemicals added and also drugs and antibiotics that have been given to livestock and crops to aid growth are all factors that affect nutrition in our food and can affect our own body’s biochemistry. Nutritional quality of our food can be affected by the manufacturing process, storage and preparation of our food.

The quantity of food that we eat also influences our nutritional status. In developing countries malnutrition is a huge problem but in developed countries under nutrition can occur due to dependency on heavy refined processed foods.

The efficiency of our digestive system affects our nutritional status. Bad condition of our intestines will reduce the absorption of digested foods into our blood stream. Metabolic faults, sensitivity to certain food and the presence of substances like tea and coffee can affect the absorption rate of certain nutrients.

Biochemical availability is the optimum range of intake of a person essential nutritional requirement. This nutritional requirement is influenced by age, growth, sex, pregnancy and breastfeeding, illness, psychological and emotional stress, activity level and other factors like smoking and drinking.

Nutritional requirements change as a person gets older, because the elderly use a lot of medication their absorption, excretion and utilization of nutrients can be affected. Growing children have different nutritional needs to that of adults. For example, a growing infant requires a higher intake of essential fatty acids than that of an adult. In the same way there are different nutrition requirements for young and old there are also very different requirements between the sexes. For example, a woman’s nutritional requirements can vary throughout her menstrual cycle, also a woman who is pregnant or breastfeeding has different nutritional requirement to that of one who is not.
Nutritional requirement vary depending on whether someone is healthy or ill. As diseases are unique so are the nutritional requirements needed whilst that person is ill. The same applies to psychological and emotional stress. When people are affected by stress their appetite is affected, this results in less intake of food which in turn results in less nutrients being absorbed.

A person activity level will affect their nutritional requirement. An athlete will need a different nutritional requirement to that of an office worker. Exercise improves metabolic efficiency in some people and increases nutrient requirement.

People may find that certain nutritional requirements are increase within their family. Genetics can play a part in an extra need for certain nutrients. Other factors such as using recreational drugs, smoking and drinking can affect nutrient requirements. Even beverages like Tea and Coffee can affect nutrient requirements; they both inhibit the absorption of Iron and Zinc.
